AI for Vietnam (AIV) is a U.S.-registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded by Vietnamese professionals from the world’s leading technology corporations and prestigious academic institutions. Role Overview
We are looking for a versatile UX/UI Designer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. In this role, you will bridge the gap between user needs and product goals, taking ownership of the design process from initial concept to final hand-off. You will not just design screens; you will help define the product feature and ensure our users have a seamless, intuitive experience.
On a daily basis, you will design user flows and interfaces, validate concepts through rapid testing, and refine features based on cross-functional feedback.
Reporting directly to the Head of Marketing & Communications and working closely with the Marketing and Engineering teams, you’ll help translate complex ideas into clear, impactful experiences and visuals that resonate with diverse audiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Full-Cycle Design: Execute all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
- User Research: Conduct user research and evaluate user feedback to enhance the product experience.
- Prototyping: Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and sitemaps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Brand Integration: Ensure the product interface perfectly aligns with our brand identity and marketing visual language.
- Collaboration: Work closely with Product Managers and Developers to ensure designs are feasible and implemented correctly.
- Iteration: Rapidly iterate on designs based on data, user testing, and stakeholder feedback.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in UX/UI design for web and mobile applications.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating a mix of UX thinking (process) and UI craft (visuals).
- Mastery of Figma (auto-layout, components, prototyping).
- Strong understanding of color theory, typography, and layout principles.
- Ability to work in a fully remote, collaborative environment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly articulate your design decisions and reasoning.
Preferred Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript (to understand technical constraints).
- Experience designing for 0-to-1 products or early-stage startups.
- Ability to create custom illustrations or icons.
- Additional related skills (e.g., graphic design, motion/video editing, or coding) are a bonus.
